Set in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, “Prey” is the story of a young woman, Naru, a fierce and highly skilled warrior. She has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains, so when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people. The prey she stalks, and ultimately confronts, turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a vicious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.

“Prey” is directed by Dan Trachtenberg, written by Patrick Aison (“Jack Ryan,” “Treadstone”), and produced by John Davis (“Jungle Cruise,” “The Predator”) and Jhane Myers (“Monsters of God”), with Lawrence Gordon (“Watchmen”), Marty Ewing (“It: Chapter Two”), James E. Thomas, John C. Thomas and Marc Toberoff (“Fantasy Island”) serving as executive producers.

The filmmakers were committed to creating a film that provides an accurate portrayal of the Comanche and brings a level of authenticity that rings true to its Indigenous peoples. Myers, an acclaimed filmmaker, Sundance Fellow and member of the Comanche nation herself, is known for her attention and dedication to films surrounding the Comanche and Blackfeet nations and her passion for honoring the legacies of the Native communities. As a result, the film features a cast comprised almost entirely of Native and First Nation’s talent, including Amber Midthunder (“The Ice Road,” “Roswell, New Mexico”), newcomer Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp (“Sooyii”), Michelle Thrush (“The Journey Home”), Julian Black Antelope (“Tribal”).

Oddio, escludendo l'ormai storico film di Schwarzenegger, non e' che il franchise abbia spesso brillato in qualita' e in box office

eh per forza, il primo era un survival fighissimo e truzzo al punto giusto. il secondo 'na roba urbana anni 90 ma ancora ancora accettabile e forse anche un po' incompreso dato il suo differenziarsi totalmente dal film precedente. tutto quel che è venuto dopo è 'na miseria, si salvava giusto l'idea di partenza del terzo.

però tanto i film di predator quanto quelli di alien (tolti quelli di scott, l'unico che dal 2 in poi ha cercato di tirare fuori qualcosa di importante) hanno il problema di essere sfruttati malissimo ed al minimo. entrambi hanno un potenziale vastissimo.

sono cmq curioso di questo prequel, anche se mi sa di fatto al risparmio.

In realta' rispetto ad Alien,puo' uscire un buon action movie anche senza spenderci milioni, alla fine tutto si riduce in una caccia all'uomo, quindi la scrittura e' la parte piu' importante,

Ah, pero' il trailer sembra strafico, ed il contesto western non sembra posticio

visto e mah, non è che sia brutto però sembrava di averlo già visto 'sto predator.

la sensazione è che sia stato fatto un remake del primo, perchè tolta la lunga introduzione (mezzo film) che serve a dare una contestualizzazione dei personaggi e dell'epoca, da quando parte la caccia segue lo stesso schema

il duello finale è una sola, tipo che c'è il barbatrucco ai limiti dell'accettabile; l'alieno è parecchio gommoso e sotto la maschera non sembra più lui, però fa alcune cose fighe; la protagonista è supersmart, il suo cane pure, gli altri sono tutti carne da macello e questa ovvietà mi ha ammazzato le buone atmosfere durante i momenti di rissa.

sicuramente meglio del precedente film ma non è assolutamente una fantasticheria come leggo in giro.

dallo stesso regista di prey e del prossimo badlands, finalmente si è saputo qual era l'altro predator misterioso a cui stava lavorando.

un film animato per la tv con una grafica triste...

forse un passo avanti è stato fatto rispetto a prey.

è anche un crossover con alien dal momento che l'androide del film è un prodotto della weyland-yutani.

ah inoltre pare che al muro sia appeso il teschiotto dell'alieno di independence day.

magari preparano il minestrone con gli avanzi...
