Perchè Del Toro non ha diretto Pacific Rim 2: Del Toro is currently in post-production on The Shape of Water, to be released later this year, while Pacific Rim: Uprising only just wrapped and doesn’t hit theaters until 2018. And with DeKnight coming in to direct, del Toro says he let the filmmaker make Pacific Rim: Uprising his own while maintaining a hands-off approach as a producer:“The timing started to suck. I had this little movie that I wanted to do—The Shape of Water—very, very much. At one point it was Justice League Dark or Pacific Rim, I said, ‘Let’s go to Pacific Rim.’ The reality is they said, ‘We’re gonna need to postpone,’ because they were changing hands—Legendary was going to be sold to China, to a Chinese company [called the Wanda Group]. They said, ‘We’ve gotta wait nine months’ and I said, ‘I’m not waiting nine months, I’m shooting a movie,’ and I went and shot [The Shape of Water] and we chose Steven DeKnight.” “It was such a great choice. I mean I love [DeKnight], love what he does, I think he’s really brilliant. He’s making it his own. I’m not breathing over his shoulder saying, ‘What are you doing? What are you doing?’ He’s doing things differently and I like that. When I produce I try to produce the way I would like to be produced. I say to everyone I produce, ‘If you need me I will be there 100% all the time. If you don’t need me, I’m not there. You show me the cut then we’ll start interacting.” Del Toro went on to say that Pacific Rim: Uprising ultimately is a different story than the version of Pacific Rim 2 he intended to direct: “It’s going great. I see dailies every day, I see early cuts, I see teasers. They’re doing great. It lets him have his style, lets him have his notion of the characters. I wrote a screenplay, developed two or three drafts of that screenplay—this is different than what I developed, and I’m OK. A producer is in the corner, the director is in the ring. The producer’s not getting the punches, the director is, so shut up, wait in the corner, refresh the towel and wait for the director to come to you.”

Comunque ho letto che dopo Homecoming 2, Spider-man tornerà alla Sony e molto difficilmente sarà rinnovato il deal consociativo: saranno uccelli senza zucchero!

Da come capisco io, Vaughn e WB si stanno già parlando e se anche dovesse rifiutare, sono disponibili a offrirgli qualsiasi film di supereroi lui voglia girare. Esatto, l'idea di Vaughn per Superman è la seguente: “I think that’s the one thing not to do with Superman, trying to do the serious The Dark Knight version. Superman is about color and fun, or it should be, for me.”

Ma sì, infatti, cioè rendetevi conto si stanno struggendo per un film su Batman!!! Hanno a disposizione 80 anni di mitologia multimediale e non ne cavano un ragno dal buco, santiddio!

I dati di vendita parlano chiaro: è un tracollo.

Ma io penso che dopo Justice League sarà subito defenestrato: lo volevavo già far fuori dopo Batman V Superman. E certamente gli è stato tolto l'incarico originario di architetto del DC movie universe.

E' troppo tardi per un defenestramento, i danni fatti in questi anni sono quasi irreparabili: tutti quei legacy heroes di cui non importa nulla a nessuno, collane chiuse dopo sei numeri e subito rilanciate daccapo, personaggi gloriosi totalmente irriconoscibili, un parco autori di serie Z e la DC per la prima volta da decenni nei primi 15 posti della top 100 con l'evento Rebirth che sta piacendo e piace (a ragione) davvero a tutti.

Il problema è che non lo sanno nemmeno loro!!! Navigano a vista e sono incerti su tutto!!!

:lolla: Avanti un altro! Ridley, ti va? Ormai il DC movie universe è una telenovela tragicomica: a questo punto chiudete tutto, meglio una fine spaventosa che uno spavento senza fine.

Mel ha ufficialmente confermato le trattative in corso ma ha altresì detto che è alquanto prematuro. Adesso manca Giorgetto Miller su Green Lantern o Man of Steel 2 e siamo a cavallo!!!

Dio mio, voglio mori': è semplicemente fantastico, un sogno impossibile!!! Non capisco se sia sarcasmoo no No, no, quale sarcasmo: Gibson è un grandissimo regista e sa raccontare per immagini come pochi; inoltre la candidatura agli Oscar di Hacksaw Ridge è il suo ritorno alla vetta dopo anni di purgatorio (ingiusto? Chi può dirlo? Bisogna separare l'artista dalla persona) e una meritata rinascita personale. Ovvio che accetterà se gli sarà lasciata carta bianca, ma con gli attuali chiari di luna della WB/DC la vedo molto molto difficile. L'universo condiviso cinematografico della DC mi sembra stia andando completamente a scatafascio, è un treno a tutta velocità diretto verso un burrone.

Mah, sono perplesso: Ridley Scott ha giurato a più riprese, anche recentemente, che non girerà mai e poi mai film di supereroi, li detesta e li considera stupidi; idem con carote Tarantino che ebbe la tentazione di occuparsi di Green Lantern dopo il flop spaventoso di Death Proof ma rinsavì subito dopo aver parlato al telefono con Steverino Spielberg. Per quanto concerne Affleck, io penso che sia solo stizzito per l'apocalittico flop commerciale e critico di Live by Night, è solo una ripicca del tipo "non avete premiato il mio film d'autore post-Argo? E allora andate affanculo voi e Batman, non ve lo faccio più così imparate!!!".
