Messaggi raccomandati

- Gurren-Lagann can appear in Z2 because GAINAX acquired the video game rights to the franchise back from Konami in June 2010.

Buono a sapersi...

It's Terada. Happy New Year. Please continue supporting us this year.

So, it's 2011, the 20th anniversary of the Super Robot Wars series.

It's sudden, but I'm announcing a new game. It's a Playstation Portable game to be released in April...

Super Robot Wars Z-2: Break the World chapter

It's a commemorative work for the 20th anniversary of SRW. The very first. It's already 20 years since Super Robot Wars came out for the Game Boy on the 20th of April, 1991. As expected, we couldn't release SRWZ2 on the same day as SRW, so we decided on a release date close to that.

For more details, check out the gaming mags coming out today or the special website which will be opened at a later date... I'll be talking a little about the debuts in SRWZ2 in this entry.

I've said this many times before, but I'm not the one with sole discretion over which series are included in SRW. It's decided based on various factors after repeated negotations and conferences with staff both internal and external.

For Shin Mazinger Shougeki! Z-hen, I've heard about it from the planning stages from the people at Dynamic Productions and mechanical designer Tsuyoshi Nonaka. Though I've heard about it, because it had shocking developments from the very beginning, I watched it excitedly until the end.

As for Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, I've heard various things about it from Kazuki Nakashima, who helped me out a lot from way back (he was one of the very few industry people who knew me when I was just starting out). Just like Shin Mazinger Shougeki! Z-hen, again there were shocking developments from the very beginning and I was panicking, "How exactly can I have this in SRW..." Later, after Gurren Lagann was officially confirmed in SRW, Mr Nakashima gave me some advice: "Ahhh, that's (omitted)"

Quite a while back, at the invitation of Mr Nakashima, I had a chance to drink with the director of Gurren Lagann, Hiroyuki Imaishi, and the director of Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Seiji Mizushima. At that time, Gurren Lagann, Gundam 00 and Dai-Guard were already secretly slated to appear in SRW, but I remember Mr Mizushima telling me, "Please put Dai-Guard in".

Regarding Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, I met director Goro Taniguchi only once entirely by chance but... at that time R2 was about to start so I wasn't able to talk to him regarding SRW. However, Mr Taniguchi told me that he played SRW games in the past. That left me feeling happy.

About Eureka Seven: Good Night, Sleep Tight, Young Lovers... For this, it was already settled that it (Eureka Seven) would be returning, but prior I heard about the movie, and it was decided that the movie version would be participating. I received some of the character model sheets before the private screening, and I remember going "This... this cute?!"

And finally, Armored Trooper Votoms. I was on "Sunrise Radio EX." with producer Nobushiki Tsukada (he was one of the very few industry people who knew me when I was just starting out) a long time ago and I requested "Please, let Votoms be in SRW!". About this, I may be talking more about it at an event called "Sunrise Radio EX. Presents Dandy Lions with Aki Misato and merry friends." held at Tokyo's Asagaya Loft A on the 30th of January. Details about this event will be made known on the official site at a later date.

It's become a little long, so this is it for today.

Please look forward to the 20th anniversary commemorative work, Super Robot Wars Z2: Break the World!

@fukuda320 Good evening. Gundam SEED Destiny will be appearing in SRW again. There appear to be creators and voice actors who are happy when that happens, but how do you feel about (your creation) being in these games? I hear there are people who don't like it because the setting and scenarios are changed?

@keitanurx To be honest, I'm not very happy. The original story is complete as it is, so it's outrageous to add or modify the images and script. However, games are a different media so I think it's fine. The thing I hate most about the games are that even though they use the name (Gundam SEED Destiny), the contents are totally no good.

@fukuda320 If I look at it from a creator's point of view, I wouldn't want any changes. As for a viewer like me, I love games like SRW where my favourite shows come together, and I'm happy when SEED is inside. From when I was a child I kinda like having characters from previous works and other works compete against each other.

@keitanurx There are many people who think that way, and there are many staff members who work really hard on making (these games), so I don't object. However, spare me from the people who come and go "Director, you're happy too aren't you?" (;^_^A

edit: I mistranslated the last line. Extra "は" threw me off, and I suppose tweets aren't the paragon of grammatical correctness. The meaning isn't too different though (hey at least it's not COMPLETELY OPPOSITE)

  • 2 weeks later...

Few information from the event (gathered from 2ch)

AT and KMF's armor are so weak that they can die from just one hit. (with no upgrade)

Chirico is really strong, but his first Scope dog is really really weak. It gets 'bit' better with Custom Scope dog.

Chirico doesn't talk much. Most of his quotes are ....

Votoms and Code Geass will appear together a lot and have many cross over.

On Terada's latest message with 2nd PV being finished, he mentioned that he got a game over while testing out the game because he wasn't thinking straight due to lack of sleep. He mentioned that he wasn't suppose to let the red unit die. I was guessing what that unit was, but it seems like it would be Karen's KMP.

QUOTE

more from the even

>Terada has been very busy most projects are SRW related. He's going to try and take it easy because he doesn't want to deteriorate his health.

>Shin Mazinger was a welcomed change since it'll represent the mazinger saga from now. I wonder how it will work with Great Mazinger.

>Change Shin Getter Armageddon - Terada always wanted to use this version in a proper SRW since D. He's making sure the staff gives all the love it deserves

Quick notables

>Eureka 7 will be a new world and story

>Aquarion events will change in Z2

>Zeta Gundam is the 1980s version

>Amuro has a new mean look because of the events of Z2

>Possible secret units if time allows it

>UMD size isn't an issue, loading time was, so they added a install game feature to reduce loading time and be apar to SRWZ

>They worked hard to make Gundams cut-ins as dynamic as possible. Terada noted that 00 will shine in this.

>New Animations for the original SRWZ cast and new Dynamic Kills

>Animations will change like in SRWZ if you fly or you're in ground. It was hard to do for ATs.

>PV2 should be out by end of Feb if not sooner

Altre news da Tarada.

>The moment gurren lagann became available , Anno wasted no time to call Terada. Terada said "I think it was 2am..i was still in the office eating Cream Wafer Chocolate with Tea, I picked up the call and Anno's first words "So you got any space left for those SRW for gurren lagann? " I think that made up for the bad day I had It made me quite happy to know we could finally use Gurren Lagann in a new SRW game"

>Terada said the reason they chose PSP for (Terada wanted it for PS3) was because it would cost less to produce such a massive game and it was the best place to put the game. there was a lot of argument because of the system they wanted Z2 to be in.

>Terada said that Wii/PS3/3DS/PSP are the best choices for future SRW right now.

Regarding gundam shows.

ZZ is a no show because of some Story issues and licenses between sunrise and bandai. Sunrise and bandai have something big planned for ZZ but nothing other than that was said.

>V Gundam won't appear *yet*

>Wing Gundam will have it's plot covered they won't jump straight into EW

>Gundam X will have a few tweaks and fixes

>Turn A Gundam will play a big role

>New CCA units might appear

>They are waiting for Bandai and Sunrise to finish with Gundam UC so they *may* add it in a future SRW

>At the event Terada's first words were "I'm tired but it's going to be a very good year

>Notable Voice actors were precent, Jun fukuyama, and the new Voice of Koji Kabuto.

>Terada said that during the development of episode 16 of OGIN obari called me and said "we should give SRX a proper rival it's too big!" so I jokingly said "Oh you should put Gravion !" then he replied "thats not a bad idea...I'll just make a mech that's big and ugly like the old bitch..I wonder if Fukuyama-san is available" When I recently saw the episode I laughed a lot and told my wife "Obari he's a rascal!"

>During the development of the first SRWZ there were a lot of ideas. One of them was to add 3D pilot interfaces instead of the intermission story with motionless sprites we though of doing the characters in shaded 3D...but the PS2 didn't have that power...or space. We wanted more character cross-over interaction than recent SRW....

>Yukiko Takaguchi actually said she really really loved working with Kenichi Suzumura and Nobuo Tobita. She felt that they were really close like siblings

>Hikaru Midorikawa wants to see Cybuster vs Shurouga.

>Jam Project will feature a new song for SRWZ2

>Terada really looks like he's been working he looks older and tired.

>Banpresto staff is happy how queen's gate is coming out. They want to make a more SRW like game of it though.

One last thing Terada hopes to bring out about 6 SRW games this year alone

6 SRW entro l'anno?
