Chocozell

Chocozell
Jim Lee has shared a deeply personal update explaining the long delays surrounding Batman #163, the final issue of the second Hush 2 arc, which he says is now set to ship Wednesday, May 27. Lee revealed he was diagnosed as prediabetic last summer, which he attributed to decades of poor work habits including lack of sleep, extreme stress, and late-night eating under deadlines. He said the diagnosis forced a major lifestyle reset through diet, exercise, and improved sleep after medication was not a workable option for him. One of the biggest changes, according to Lee, has been losing the late-night “5th gear” that once powered marathon drawing sessions from 10 PM to 4 AM on books like Justice League and Suicide Squad. He admitted the slowdown has been frustrating and, at times, profoundly depressing. Lee says he has since lost around 10 pounds, cut carbs, and is actively monitoring his glucose in an effort to prevent full Type 2 diabetes. The biggest professional takeaway: no new projects will be solicited until they are fully completed, saying it’s unfair to readers, retailers, and the DC team for books to face these kinds of delays. Despite everything, Lee says Batman #163 ends on a high note creatively and thanked fans for their patience.
